Updated Covid-19 Policy – 29th May 2020

Posted on 29th May 2020 by Kate Rocher-Smith

Having reviewed the latest guidelines from the government, sporting bodies and discussed them as a team, we have updated our policy regrading our services as set out below.

It goes without saying, if you or anyone in your household is unwell, please cancel and stay away! We will not be charging cancellation fees for any of our services at this time.

Horse Viewings

We continue to welcome clients here to try our horses.

Before booking a viewing, we will ensure clients have seen adequate video footage of the horse(s) they are coming to try and have spent a significant amount of time discussing their requirements with a myself or Sue. This is to ensure any clients entering our ‘safe zone’ know as much as possible about the horse(s) they are planning to view.

Once here, we will be asking all clients to disinfect their hands on arrival with the sanitiser by the arena, to touch as little as possible whilst here and to adhere to social distancing measures. We will clean all the tack with disinfectant once clients have finished riding.

Teaching

Private lessons with the Dassett trainers are continuing, as long as the following is strictly adhered to;

Arena Hire

Our arenas will be open for hire from Monday 1st June, as long as the following is strictly adhered to;

Competition / Schooling Livery

Sadly we can not take new horses for any type of livery at the moment.

Owners are welcome to Dassett Eventing to watch their horses train, as long as they follow social distancing measures.

Owners may also now ride their own horse whilst adhering to the following policy;

There will be no toilet / bathroom facilities open, so please go before arriving here!

Obviously all of the above will be carefully monitored on a daily basis and could change at any stage. These changes may be triggered by new government / equestrian advice or policy, or theses changes may be made at our own discretion. We are not obliged to offer any notice period on any of our policy changes.

Updates will can be found on this News page, on the Services page and across our social media platforms.

Again, I am sorry to sound so strict about this, and even more sorry to be restricting our services and facilities to those who would like to use them. However, I’m sure we all agree the safety and well being of the DE team, my family and the wider population must be my overriding priority.

Let’s hope we can continue to overcome this horrible virus as a nation.  Lots of best wishes and love to you all xxx
