Kate bought Robin as an unbacked 3 year old colt from Ronan Rothwell at Boleybawn Horses and he certainly has the ability to excel in any equestrian discipline.
Robin is a striking black horse with a white diamond and four white socks. He moves well enough for a career in dressage but we are very confident we would like to produce him down a route where jumps are involved – he can give quite an exceptional feel over a fence! He carries his training through to all competitions, and looks like he’ll be a real competition in the future.
Following some summer training as a 4yo, Robin did some considerable growing in the field during the autumn and winter of 2019. He looked so much stronger in his work in the spring of 2020, but as with all of our 5 year olds, he was turned away for a couple of months to reduce numbers at DE HQ through the first Covid-19 lockdown.
In 2021, Robin produced some excellent results at BE100 and BE105 level, including knocking out some pretty impressive dressage scores! He was sold to America just before his upgrade to Novice level, to regular DE clients through Emma and Mike Winter. We wish the new owners all the happiness and success in the coming years!
