Bought at the end of his 4yo, Wilson has impressive jumping blood lines but looks to have the movement and attitude to excel in eventing.
This genuine, athletic young horse has an amazing brain and temperament. Once he learns how to co-ordinate all his loose ability, he will be a serious competitor with a very bright future.
Preparation for the start of Wilson’s eventing career was well under way in 2020 before we made the decision, as with all of our 5 year old horses, to turn him away for a couple of months to reduce numbers at DE HQ through the first Covid-19 lockdown. He came back into work through the late summer and placed around an unaffiliated event, scoring in the 20s at his first attempt between the white boards. He was a total star in all three phases!
Wilson has brought all his training together during the summer of 2021, living up to our expectations with multiple BE100 placings and jumping a double clear for 5th spot in his first Novice! He went on to place in all his Novice starts throughout 2021 and also at his first International event, Cornbury House S2*. He has now been sold to a fantastic home in the USA and we can’t wait to watch his career develop over the coming years.
