Gimmie kicked off his career in style through 2010 with numerous doubles clears and placings at BE100 level, and then placed in his 1st Novice in the autumn. As a 6yo, Gimmie gained valuable Novice experience, as well as jumping double clear at Osberton’s National 6YO Championships, before rounding off the year with an excellent double clear at Aldon CCI*, finishing in the top 20. He upgraded to Intermediate level at the start of 2012, jumping double clears and placing at this level throughout the year. This good form resulted in Gimmie being selected to represent Great Britain in the prestigious World 7YO Championships at Le Lion d’Anger…where after being well placed in the dressage, the event got rained off!  Along with numerous Intermediate placings throughout 2013, Gimmie finished in the money at both Barbury CIC** and Osberton CCI** and easily upgraded to Advanced level.  Gimmie had an unlucky 2014 season, culminating in a pulled shoe (and half his foot!) ruling him out of Blenheim 8/9YO Championships, but he gained the lost 3* experience throughout 2015.  This included competing at some of toughest CIC3*s on the circuit and showed what a class cross country horse he is at Blenheim Palace’s CCI3* to round off the season.  In 2016, having placed at Advanced level, Gimmie was clear and inside the time (being the fastest of the day) around Bramham’s CCI3* cross country track, making it feel very easy!  With Kate on maternity leave in 2017, Gimmie was kept in work by the Dassett team and one of Kate’s good friends, Jodie Amos.  Gimmie slotted right back into the grove in 2018, cruising around Bramham and Camphire CCI3* tracks, before tragedy struck at Blair Castle.  Devastatingly Gimmie sustained a life ending injury after completing the cross country and never came home.  The team at Dassett Eventing have been heart broken by this loss and words can not do justice to how grateful we are to have had the privilege of working with this wonderful, special horse.  RIP our gorgeous, gorgeous boy xxxx
