This lovely character turned his talents to eventing at the end of 2013, following a year of pure jumping in Ireland.
He took to the sport more naturally than many, easily upgrading to Novice level early in 2014, and following many double clears, made the step up to Intermediate very smoothly in the spring of 2015. Casper went on to win and place at Intermediate level throughout 2015, and in 2016 he consolidated on his 3* form, cruised clear around his first Advanced and placed 7th at his spring CCI-L3*. With Kate on maternity leave in 2017, Casper worked on some pure dressage with Lizzie Murray and Hayley. In 2018, Casper made the step up to 4* level and put in some great performances, including rounding off the season with a fantastic clear cross country round at Blenheim Palace CCI-L4*. Casper missed the 2019 competitive season due to injury, but remained in work and got plenty of educational training under his belt. Casper was one of the lucky horses to head south to Spain in February 2020 on the Sunshine Jumping Tour. Kate and Casper learnt so much about each other during this time and jumped some great rounds, including clear around 1.35m tracks! Casper has enjoyed getting back eventing last summer but with Kate’s second pregnancy well under way, his season ended a bit earlier than it otherwise would have done.
Now Kate is back in the saddle, this year Casper will contest a series of S4* events and hope to have great fun along the way.
